Reporting to the Claims Team Leader your role will be to proactively manage life insurance claims in accordance with policy terms and conditions and, where appropriate, the Insurance Contracts Act and other relevant legislation, ensuring that the client is given a fair assessment without compromising the firm's reputation and brand in any way.
You will have experience in assessing claims through the practical application of the policy terms and conditions, analysis of medical, financial and other relevant information, engaging the appropriate investigation tools to ensure claims are appropriately managed in line with good claims management strategies.
You will be comfortable in pro-actively managing claims durations and engage with appropriate third parties such as rehabilitation to ensure sustainable return to work outcomes are facilitated, and using awareness of duties involved in different occupations and an understanding of expected recovery times after accident or illness and how this impacts on different occupations to support.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 12 months experience in life insurance (Direct, Retail or Group) is essential;
- Must have full "end to end" claims assessment exposure;
- 3+ years' experience in life claims assessment required for more Snr. Roles;
- Tertiary degree in Finance/Commerce or a Legal disciplinewould be very highly regarded;
- Allied Health background desirable, but not essential;
We will be exploring candidates that do not have Claims Assessment experience, however would like to utilise thier strong Allied Health or Workers Compensation experience to transition into Claims Assessment.
