Job Description


This role is responsible for providing specialist support across the technical and numerical requirements of a Strategic Financial Planning team. This can relate to SMSF, Tax planning across different structures and the preparation of complex High Net Worth related Statements of Advice.


  • Have a clearly defined business plan which is aligned to advice team's objectives and targets
  • Service existing client relationships and maintain a consistent client experience
  • Preparation of Records of Advice and Complex Statements of Advice
  • Prepare client review documents related to investment strategy and portfolio re-weighting
  • Update model portfolios based on research house views
  • Attend Strategic Technical update sessions (facilitated by CXPD)
  • Demonstrate extensive understanding of and can communicate financial market updates, investment ideas, asset allocation and portfolio construction
  • Complete comprehensive client profiling and ongoing monitoring of change to circumstances within required timeframes
  • Provide investment advice or strategic financial planning advice which is aligned to client objectives and risk appetite
  • Maintaining client files
  • Operating ethically in line with all policies and procedures. Ensuring compliance with legislation and regulators, including ongoing compliance training and regularly completing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.
  • Work with advice team to prepare and pitch to potential clients
  • Work with advice team/s to execute and deliver business-wide initiatives and opportunities to achieve desired outcomes
  • Lead change to enable timely team adoption and ongoing engagement


  • You can demonstrate a high-level knowledge of SMSF rules and legislation
  • Understanding and strong interest in financial markets
  • Extensive working knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry and regulatory environment
  • Highly developed numerical and analytical skills - attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation and networking skills
  • Ability to manage and meet expectations and timeframes
  • Good Microsoft excel and power point skills
  • Strong interpersonal and rapport building skills
